The course, based on an anthology of theory on gīta, vādya, nṛtya, nṛtta and nāṭya from various Sanskrit treatises on performing arts is an attempt to present before the students and practitioners of these art-forms, the definitions of some of the fundamental concepts of these arts, their aims and their flawless execution as envisaged by our Pūrvācāryas in their immortal works such as Nātya-śāstra, Saṅgīta-ratnākara, Nartana-nirṇaya, Abhinaya-darpaṇa, Saṅgīta-darpaṇa, etc
