|
Musicians from the city of Trichy paid homage to Saint Thyagaraja by rendering Pancharatna Kritis at an aradhana organised by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Tiruchi Kendra on January 22, 2012. Over 20 vidhwans joined together in the programme which gained a spiritual momentum as singers moved from one kriti to another. Shri Kalaimamani Kasam explained the importance of each Pancharatna Kriti to the audience.
The programme was inaugurated by Shri N. Gopalswamy, Director Dalmia Cements and a patron of Trichy Kendra, who applauded the efforts of the Trichy Kendra for leaving no stone unturned in espousing cultural renaissance. Also present at the function were Dr. S. Chandrakumar, Chairman of Trichy Kendra, and patron Shri R. Mohan.
