Bharat Nair, student of class VI of Bhavan's Vidya Mandir won the National award of the 'Gurutsav Essay Writing competition' conducted by the HRD Ministry and CBSE in connection with Teachers' Day celebrations. He received a cash award of Rs.5000 and a book. The competition was conducted on-line and thousands of students participated. Bharat's essay on 'The Year I got a Wonderful Teacher' won the award. He wrote about Smt. Belseena Oliver, his KG teacher. Smt Rema Narayanan, Principal of the school and Shri Chitran Namboodiripad, Senior Vice Chairman of Bhavan's Thrissur Kendra gave the award and the book to Bharat.
