In yet another one-of-its-kind initiative, BOSS (Bhavan Old Students Society), the alumni wing of Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh spearheaded an initiative to contribute to the medical needs of the underprivileged. KOSHISH, a medical support initiative by the guild, supports people who are unable to afford surgeries and medical treatment due to financial constraints.
Working in collaboration with Government Hospital, Panchkula, BOSS identifies patients who are in need of financial support for pressing ailments like heart surgeries. The details of the patient and the target amount is shared on the alum's web page www.bhavansalumni.com/funds. Money is collected via donations from the society, which is then transferred to the hospital. This enables the hospital to execute the surgery without much delay.
Mrs. Maneshwari Devi, who was in need of an angioplasty and stenting, was the first patient to be successfully treated as part of this philanthropic initiative at Civil
Hospital, Panchkula. Mr. Vinay Aggarwal, President of BOSS along with Mr. Nipun Nakra, Senior BOSS member, presented the cheque to Dr. Suvir Saxena, Principal Medical officer of Civil Hospital. This aided the successful operation of the patient, Mrs. Devi, who was in deep appreciation of the support extended.
The Civil Hospital appreciated BOSS for their selfless support and philanthropy which is a small but sure step in the direction of giving back to the society.
