Making reading a habit has always been an endeavour at Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh. The pandemic and its repercussions may have kept them from visiting the well-stocked school library, but the numerous library activities undertaken by the school have ensured that reading continues for its students.
To celebrate Book Week, a video on 'How a Book is Born' was shared with students along with a presentation on how a book is printed in a press. Meanwhile, quizzes based on authors and quotes kept children's guessing game going strong. Among other activities, students created posters based on the life and literary works of authors from the comfort of their homes. Pupils of various classes also indulged in library activities like making paperweights, book marks, files and folders from old newspapers, etc.
The librarian, Anju Verma also shares a moral story a day via virtual platform with various classes, keeping students motivated and unruffled in these trying times.
