Sarva Dharma Maitri Bhavan Inaugurated
|
The Bhavan's Thrissur Kendra, which had conceptualised their dream project 'Sarva Dharma Maitri Pratishthan' in October 1990 to promote universal peace, built the Sarva Dharma Maitri Bhavan at the 50-cent land given to them by the Ramakrishna Math. The Sarva Dharma Maitri Bhavan was inaugurated by Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Tamil Nadu who is also the Vice President of the Bhavan. The inaugural function, which was held at the 600 seater auditorium of the Bhavan, started with an invocation dance set to the lyrics of Adi Sankaracharya's Guru Asthakam by students from Bhavan's Pottore and Poochatty schools. Many dignitaries including Bhavan's Kendra Chairman & District Collector Dr. Kowsigan and Bhavan's Kochi Kendra Director Shri E. Ramankutty, graced the function.
In his address Governor Shri Banwarilal Purohit called upon the teachers to adhere to simplicity, self discipline, punctuality and the noble thinking of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. He later honoured Assoc. Secretary Shri V. Ramachandran, Architect Shri Rajesh Anthony and Builder Shri K.M. Elias for their landmark contributions towards the fruition of the prestigious project.
