Programme for Teachers
|
An Inservice Programme for the entire teaching staff was arranged by the Kendra from 20-28 May 2019 with support from renowned teachers from colleges, SCERT, Sainik School, IISER, IISST and psychologists from nearby institutions.
The teachers were asked to identify difficult topics to teach and the portions which students would find difficult to understand. After identifying these areas, open discussions were held and some experts demonstrated as to how to teach these topics in a student friendly manner.
Other area of training was in the realm of Communicative English. Another topic covered was promoting reading habits especially of text books by teachers as well as by students. Two talks by renowned psychologists, Dr. Prakash Ramakrishnan on 'Better the best Teacher, and Dr. Martin Payyappilly on 'How to be an accomplished Teacher' also enlightened the teachers.
