Bhavan's Udupi Manipal Kendra celebrating the birthday of Dr. Kota Shivarama Karanth.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan- Udupi Manipal Branch observed the birthday of Dr. Kota Shivarama Karanth on October 10, jointly with Dr. Kota Shivarama Karantha Trust and RRC, MGM. The programme was conducted with a number of scholars like Dr. Ramachandra Deva, Janapadasri Hiriadka Gopal Rao, Dr. Asha Devi M.N, Bangalore, Dr. A. P. Radhakrishna,Puttur, A. Ishwariah Manipal, K.
Sathyanarayana, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Bangalore, Shridhar Bhat, Retd. Bank Manager, Mysore, Advocate Purandar Bhat, Puttur, Sudheer Rao Kodavoor,Udupi, etc. Each one spoke of his experiences with Dr Karanth : as friend, critic, artiste and co- passenger. The function ended with a Mohiniattam, a cultural programme by veteran artistes of Natyalaya School of Classical Dances - Kerala. The lead artiste Ms. Sowmya Balagopal is an accomplished dancer and musician. Her partners were Ms. Kalamandalam Karthika and Ms. Neeraja Suresh.
