Dance is a universal expression of ones lovely sentiments depicted with eyes, face, hand gestures, footwork and body movements. The artistic bearings of all form of dances of India reflect aesthetically rich unity of nritta, nritya and naatya, & taandav and laasya although being originated from diverse cultural milieu to render subtle audio-visual delights of musical arts.
Veteran music writer and compere Manjari Sinha from Delhi presented valuable insights before every dance form drawing references from history and highlighting its aesthetic richness. Bhavana Ketan Dand, a noted disciple of Kathak dancer Sunayana Hazarilal, Padmashri, started the evening with Shiva stuti and presented some items of kathak dance.
As a second artist of the evening, Latasana Devi, a disciple of Manipuri dancer Darshana Jhaveri presented Radha Nartan. It was followed by Odissi dance recital of Swapnakalpa Dasgupta in which she portrayed the Dasavatar, the ten incarnations of lord Krishna on the verse of poet Jaidev from Geeta Govindam. Snigdha Menon, a disciple of Guru Gayathri Subramanyam presented Bharat Natyam dance recital. Renjish Nair presented a solo Kathakali dance recital and was concluded by duet of Renjish and Mohiniyattam dancer Deepa Nair.
