The 6th evening “Sumiran kar le re Manawaa” on 23rd Feb, 2023 was a musical programme of songs and prayers of all religions of India presented by the followers of the respective faiths. The recitals began with Hindu Vedic Chants and Ghana paath by Dr Ganapati Hegde and his team comprising Manjunath Bhatt, Dhruva Bhatt and Shidhara. It was followed by the recital of Zoroastrian ‘Munazat’ by Jamshed Kotwal. Johny Shah sang Jain and Buddhist prayers.
Vijay Avale from Pune sang Christian songs in Marathi narrating background of the compositions that was based on Hindustani Raagas. Renowned Dhrupad singer Sukhdev Chaturvedi presented traditional raaga based Haveli sangeet compositions while giving explanations. Young singer Harpreet Singh sang two soulful Gurbani reflecting the sentiments Sikhism.
Ramkrishna Das sang Bengali Kirtan following the tradition of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu with accompaniment of shri-khol by Nitin Jadav. During the conclusion, there was an effective recital of Quran-e-Paak by Delhi based Fareed Hassan Khan and Mehboob Hussain Khan. They sang a moving Naat and Man-Qabat reflecting their skill of raaga music in the style of classical qawwali.
All the artistes were laudably accompanied by Kalinath Mishra on tablaa, Shashank Acharya on flute, Vanraj Shastri on sarangi, Ravindra Kumr Belbansi on dholak, Vishal Dhumal on keyboard and Hemang Mehta on side rhythm and percussion. The programme was adroitly compered by Dipak Soliya while introducing relevant details of the forms.
