Coimbatore Kendra
On August 15, 2026, the school community gathered with vibrant patriotism and pride to commemorate India’s 80th Independence Day. Setting a respectful and traditional tone, the school choir led everyone in the opening invocation, Tamil Thai Vaazhthu.
The atmosphere grew solemn and inspiring as the Chief Guest Lieutenant General Dr. S. Murali Mohan, AVSM officially hoisted the national flag. Following the hoisting, the school choir filled the air with energy, delivering a moving Flag song followed by the National Anthem. The inaugural proceedings wrapped up with an inspiring welcome speech delivered by the Assistant Sports Captain, C.L. Shasmita.
The morning then transitioned into a dynamic series of student performances showcasing deep patriotic spirit and diverse talents. Demonstrating grace, balance, and physical discipline, the girls of Grades 6, 7, and 8 presented a rhythmic yoga display. Adding energy to the event, the boys of Grades 6, 7, and 8 presented a martial arts Karate display.
The gathering celebrated student achievements during the prize distribution segment, where deserving recipients were recognised by the Chief Guest.
Dental Health Screening
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School organised a comprehensive Dental Awareness Programme by a crew of 13 doctors from Sri Ramakrishna Dental College and Hospital aimed at promoting oral hygiene and overall health among students. The event featured an engaging and interactive session tailored for students from Classes 1 to 9, where oral health experts demonstrated proper brushing techniques, highlighted the importance of balanced nutrition, and educated children on preventing common dental issues. Following the interactive talk, a thorough dental screening test was conducted for all students across the school.
Onam Celebrations
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School, Ajjanur, Coimbatore, witnessed a vibrant atmosphere of joy and cultural pride as the campus came together to celebrate Onam. The celebrations began on a delightful note with energetic performances by the school’s youngest learners. The LKG students captivated the audience with a harmonious song, expressive speeches, and a cheerful dance routine. Adding depth to the programme, Class 8 students organised a special assembly featuring a well-crafted Onam skit that highlighted the essence and rich traditions of the festival.
The competitive spirit of the day unfolded through inter-house events, where students showcased their talents in traditional art forms. Participants created elaborate, colourful floral designs in the Pookkalam competition, complemented by a special rangoli created by Class 10 students, and performed the graceful, rhythmic Thiruvathira Kali dance. Advisor Dr. Ganesan enriched the gathering by sharing the historical significance of Thiruvonam, offering insightful reflections, and extending warm festive greetings to the entire school community.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School, Ajjanur, Coimbatore, organised an enlightening Oral Hygiene Awareness Programme and Dental Camp on the school campus. The event featured distinguished Chief Guest Dr. Krishna Priya, who interacted enthusiastically with students from Classes 1 to 9 about the vital importance of maintaining oral hygiene. In addition to the talk, a comprehensive dental check-up camp was conducted for all participating students.
World Elephant Day Celebration
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mat HR Sec School organised an awareness programme on August 1, 2026 as a part of World Elephant Day and to promote elephant conservation and wildlife protection. Students participated enthusiastically in an awareness rally, carrying placards and raising slogans. An Elephant Conservation Pledge was administered, followed by an informative video on elephants, their ecological significance and the threats they face.
Fancy Dress Competition
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mat HR Sec School conducted a Fancy Dress Competition on August 1, 2026 with great enthusiasm. The young participants of KG to Class 4 appeared in colourful costumes portraying various characters, professions, animals and social themes. They confidently presented their roles through expressive dialogue and gestures. The event enhanced creativity, communication skills, confidence and stage presence, concluding on a joyful and memorable note.
National Library Day Quiz Programme
A Quiz Programme was organised on August 12, 2026 for students of Classes 6 to 9 as a part of National Library Day. The quiz covered authors, literature, geography, current affairs and languages. Students participated enthusiastically, displaying quick responses, teamwork and confidence.
Zonal Sports Achievements
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mat HR Sec School celebrated its outstanding zonal sports achievements. On August 4-5, 2026, the matches were held at Marudhamalai Devasthanam Higher Secondary School, Vadavalli. The school celebrated remarkable Table Tennis achievements, with Surya P securing the Under-14 Boys’ Singles Zonal Championship, while Diya S N and Lakshana J U emerged as Under-17 Girls’ Singles and Doubles Zonal Winners. In Under-17 Tennikoit Doubles, Manu Mithran S and Srinesh J S also emerged as Zonal Winners. The students have qualified for the District-level matches.

The students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Ajjanur, participated in the West Zonal Chess Tournament conducted by the school in connection with National Sports Day and Republic Day Games held at Kovai Kalaimagal College of Arts and Science. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation across various age categories. Our students exhibited remarkable strategic acumen, perseverance and sporting spirit, securing commendable position and qualified for the District-Level Tournament. Their exemplary performance brought laurels to the institution.
Investiture Ceremony
The Investiture Ceremony of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Ajjanur, was held on July 25, 2026. The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag and School Flag followed by the Principal’s Welcome Address and a stirring leadership song. The Student Council was formally inducted, and the newly elected office bearers solemnly pledged to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity and dedication. The Chief Guest Shri Balaji Kumar, International Hockey Umpire, Fitness Educator and Entrepreneur, delivered an inspiring address, emphasising sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and resilience.

The Award function of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan R S Puram was held to honour the outstanding academic achievements of the students and to recognise the dedicated teachers. Students who had excelled in the board examination were felicitated with awards and certificates.
The Chairman Shri. N V Nagasubramaniam in his presidential address congratulated the awardees and motivated the students to pursue excellence with determination and discipline.
Shri. M Alagiriswamy the correspondent in his address emphasised the importance of value based education, perseverance and lifelong learning.
Hon. Treasurer Shri. R Ravindran urged the students to make the best use of opportunities available to them and strive for success in all their endeavours.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Matriculation School Ajjanur, Coimbatore students brought laurels to the school through their outstanding performances in sports competitions. Master M. J. Sri Gowtham of Class 5 secured the First Prize in the District-Level Chess Tournament (Under-10 category).
Adding to the school’s pride, B. V. Sri Lakshmi of Class 5 won Gold Medals in both the Single Stick and Double Stick events at the 4th National Silambam Championship. The school congratulates the winners and wishes them continued success in their future endeavours.

At Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Matric. Hr. Sec. School Ajjanur, CBE-7, Summer Camp was conducted from 15 to 25 April 2026. Students actively participated in various activities such as sports, music, dance, karate, silambam, art & craft, Scouts & Guides, tailoring and cookery. They showed great enthusiasm throughout and thoroughly enjoyed the camp.
National Integration Camp
XIV National Integration Camp was conducted at Bhavan’s Sri Venkateshwara Vidyalaya, Tirupati, from April 22- 26, 2026 on the theme ‘Heritage and Legacy—The Icons of Bhavan’s’.
The camp focused on yoga, meditation, cultural presentations, academic sessions, and heritage visits, aiming to nurture discipline, unity, and a sense of national pride among students.
A total of 6 students from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Matric. Hr. Sec. School Ajjanur, and overall, 68 Bhavan’s schools from across the country took part in this enriching experience.
The camp proved to be highly educational, experiential, and deeply inspiring, leaving behind lasting memories and imparting valuable life lessons to all the participants.

English Language Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on March 7, 2026. The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. V. Ganesan, Academic Advisor.
The celebration included a variety of events such as a colourful parade, skit, speech and quiz competition, which highlighted the importance and richness of the English language. Students actively participated in all the activities and showcased their talents with great confidence. The active participants of the English Club activities were appreciated and awarded certificates for their enthusiastic involvement.
Little Achievers’ Day
‘Little Achievers’ Day’ was celebrated by the Kindergarten on March 30, 2026. The occasion was graced by Correspondent Shri M. Alagiriswamy, Associate Secretary Shri C. R. Surya Narayanan.
Certificates were awarded to the UKG students for the successful completion of their Kindergarten education. The UKG students also shared their memorable experiences and journey in Kindergarten. The students of Pre-KG and LKG captivated the audience with their delightful and vibrant dance performances.
International Seminar
An International seminar was conducted on March 19, 2026 at ARCOMM Tech Solutions on the topic, ‘The Role of Responsible AI in Industrial Revolution 5.0’. 12 students and 4 teachers of the Computer Science department took part in the seminar.
The resource person was Prof. Dr. Emerson Raja Joseph, CEO of Artificial Intelligence, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Multimedia University, Melaka, Malaysia.

The Art Expo was conducted on March 5, 2026 to showcase the creativity and artistic talents of the students. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Shri. Suryanarayanan, Associate Secretary, BVB. A wide variety of artworks including drawings, paintings and craft works were beautifully displayed. The exhibition was well received and it encouraged the young artists to develop their artistic skills further.
Fire & Safety Awareness
An awareness programme on “Fire and safety” was conducted for the students of Classes 5 to 9 on March 3, 2026 to educate them about preventive measures and safety practices during fire emergencies. Trained officers from the Fire and Rescue department explained the common causes of fire accidents. The session was interactive and the students actively clarified their doubts.
International Maths Day
International Maths Day was celebrated on March 13, 2026 to highlight the importance and beauty of mathematics in everyday life. Various engaging activities were organised to make the celebration both educational and enjoyable.
Students actively participated in different events such as Math puzzles, problem-solving activities and presentations. Charts and models were also displayed, which created great interest among the students. The celebration helped students develop logical thinking and numerical skills.

The National Science Day Celebration 2026 was held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan MHSS, R.S. Puram, Coimbatore on February 28, 2026. The event was attended by Chairman Shri N. V. Nagasubramaniam, Associate Secretary Shri Suryanarayanan C R, Principal Shri R. G. Shankar, and Chief Guest Dr. Mary Mohankumar Retired Scientist, from the Kalpakkam Atomic Centre.
The programme began with a prayer, followed by a unique moment when a robot presented a bouquet to the dignitaries, symbolising the blend of tradition and modern technology.
A special highlight was the presentation of the C. V. Raman Award to Vyshnavi of Class 11 for her outstanding contribution to scientific studies. The celebration concluded with the inauguration of the Science Exhibition, where students displayed innovative projects related to robotics, science concepts, and sustainable agriculture.
The International Summit
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Matric. Hr. Sec. School students of Class 9 took part in the International Summit on February 3, 2026 on the topic ‘Young Leaders for a Climate Smart Future’, which focused on fostering youth-led climate action, sustainable development and climate resilient agriculture.
Bioconcorrenza 2026
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Matric. Hr. Sec. School students took part in ‘Bioconcorrenza 2026’ which is a major national-level biotechnology symposium and technical festival that took place at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. It was held in connection with National Science Day celebrations on February 27 and 28, 2026.
The event focused on bringing science and innovation to the forefront through various competitions, workshops, and exhibitions. Poster presentations, quiz and various technical competitions were conducted and the following students were the winners.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Matric. Hr. Sec. School, Bhavin Adithya of Class 8 and Adarsh Srinivasan of Class 7 secured second place in the State level tennis match.
Award Ceremony
To commemorate the contribution of Mahakavi Subramaniya Bharathi to Tamil literature and freedom struggle, The Nava Bharathi award ceremony was organised by Bharathi Pasarai Trust & Suburban Hr. Sec. School on February 19, 2026.
S. Oviya and M.S. Ajay Krishna of Class 10 won in Tamil essay writing and poetry, Sai Sathvika of Class 10 won in Tamil elocution. The winners were honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 3000 in recognition of their talent and excellence.
International Letter Writing Competition
Indian Postal department conducted an International letter writing competition on February 23, 2026 on the topic, “Write a letter to a friend about why human connection matters in a digital world”. The students from Classes 5 to 9 took part enthusiastically.
Study Trip
In connection with National Science Day, the students of Class 8 of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Matric. Hr. Sec. School visited the Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Cbe on February 27, 2026. The students explored advanced agricultural technology and the event highlighted the institute’s modern scientific advancements.

ARCOMM Tech Solutions Pvt., Ltd., conducted World Young Innovators Expo, an international event on January 10, 2026 for students from 4—9 Std. at Gitanjali Public school, CODISSIA, Coimbatore. 18 students from the school participated and presented their innovative projects. The event provided a global platform for young minds to showcase creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, encouraging innovation and technological awareness among students.
Rajya Puraskar Award
The Rajya Puraskar Award was conferred to 114 Scouts and Guides of the school in recognition of their outstanding performance, discipline, and dedication.
The honoured students had successfully completed all the required tests, camps and service activities prescribed under the Rajya Puraskar scheme. Their achievements reflect their commitment to leadership, teamwork and community service.
