“Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan-Infosys Foundation” conducted the Pavakali programme, a traditional folk art form as part of the Bhavan-Infosys foundation cultural outreach programme.
Pavakali is a unique art form where the artist balances puppets on her upper lip and performs along with folk music. The only two living artists in the field are Padmasree Moozhikkal Pankajakshi and her granddaughter Smt. K. S. Renjini. The artist Smt K. S. Renjini performed stories from the Ramayana and other stories.
The convocation ceremony for the students of the Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism of Bhavan’s R. P. Institute was held on November 22, 2022 at Kottayam Government Medical College auditorium. The certificates were handed over by Dr V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai. Shri Shobin Sebastin who secured the all India 1st rank in the examination was honoured in the function.
For paying tribute to the great visionary Kulapathi Dr K. M. Munshi, the Kendra organised the annual K. M. Munshi oration on November 22, 2022 at Government Medical College, Kottayam auditorium. US-based world famous oncologist, Dr M. V. Pillai, was the orator. He said it was time to explore the possibility of imparting education, including professional courses, in the mother tongue. The programme was well-attended and well-received.
