Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kalabharati (Bhavan’s Institute of Fine Arts) organised a Merit Evening on June 15, 2023, at Sardar Patel Sabha Griha to felicitate the students who excelled in the BSS Cultural Mission examination.
Director Sri. E Ramankutty, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kochi Kendra, felicitated the students who excelled in the BSS Cultural Mission Examination 2022 for their outstanding performance and for their remarkable achievements.
The esteemed chief guest for the evening was Shri B S Balachandran, the National Chairman of Bharat Sevak Samaj, who could not attend due to his poor health condition. However, he conveyed his best wishes and sent a message which was read out at the function.

Bhavan's Mahila Vibhag organised a free Medical camp in collaboration
with Futureace Hospital, Edappally, Ernakulam on July 2, 2023 for the underprivileged in Udaya Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Ernakulam and surrounding areas.
Over 65 people availed of the camp. The medical team consisted of three doctors Dr. Anu, Dr. Ashna, Dr. Sanjeed S and four technicians. The check up and assessment covered three areas - General Health, Ophthalmology and Dentistry.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra arranged a felicitation meeting at Sardar Patel Sabha Griha Ernakulam on June 20, 2023 to honour the Teachers for the outstanding results of Class 10 and 12 in the CBSE AISSE & AISSCE Exam 2022-“2023.
The function was attended by the members of Kendra Committee, members of Educational wing, Principals, Vice Principals, Assistant Vice Principals of seven senior secondary schools, Dean, BRIM, Principal, BCAC, Coordinator BNTTC, Teacher-in-Charge of seven Balamandirs, Heads of other units and Staff members of Kendra Office.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, arranged a befitting farewell at Sardar Patel Sabha Griha on June 20, 2023, for Smt. Vijayalakshmi N.A, Principal, Bhavan's Newsprint Vidyalaya, Velloor, who demitted office on June 30, 2023, on attaining the age of superannuation. She joined Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in 1993 and served for the past 30 years.

The customary address by the Chairman for the academic year 2023-“24, known as 'Mangala Dhwani', was held on May 31, 2023, at Sardar Sabha Griha, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, T D Road.
The meeting was attended by members of the Kendra committee, Principals, Vice Principals, Members of the Educational wing, Heads of the other institutions under Kochi Kendra, over 800 teachers from seven schools, Six Bala Mandirs, Bhavan's Royal Institute of Management, Thiruvamkulam, and Bhavan's College of Arts & Commerce, Kakkanad, as well as staff members.
Sri C A Venugopal C Govind, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, in his keynote address, urged the teachers to raise the bar of achievement to new heights and expounded that service to children is equal to service to humanity.

Bhavan's Research and Development Centre, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, organised an induction programme for new Principals and teachers of Bhavan's Schools across India and abroad on May 29, 2023, on the virtual platform. Kochi Kendra had the privilege to host this induction programme, the first of its kind, which had over 460 new principals and teachers from across India.
Shri Jagdish Lakhani, Joint Executive Secretary & Registrar, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, who attended the programme, wished the new staff success and he reiterated the ideals of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. He concluded by urging the new teachers to realise the vision of this great institution.

Keeping abreast with the NEP 2020 which envisages that the education of a child begins at the age of three, Bhavan's Varuna Vidyalaya, Thrikkakara, inaugurated its 'Balvatika', the preparatory class (Bhavan's Bala Mandir -“ Pre KG, LKG and UKG), on June 7, 2023. The Balvatika not only focuses on enhancing a child's inherent talents but also provides a wholesome environment that bolsters growth and development. Several dignitaries from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, and NPOL were present on the occasion. They expressed their boundless appreciation and expressed their hope that the magic and the marvel of the tender beings would thrive with every passing day.

The Kochi Kendra arranged a befitting farewell on May 31, 2023, for Dr. Varughese C Abraham, Principal, Bhavan's College of Arts and Commerce at Kakkanad.
Dr. Varughese C Abraham served Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan for the past five years. He was very loyal, committed, dedicated and led the institute to higher planes during his tenure as a principal in Bhavan's College. He maintained a positive and optimistic outlook, even in challenging times.

A workshop was organised by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kochi Kendra for the entire support staff of all the units in Kochi. Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, was the venue of the event. As many as 167 participants attended the workshop.
Sri. Sooraj Abraham and Sri. Mujeeb Nambiatt were the resource persons. The intention of the workshop was to create a positive sustainable change in the listeners, and many group activities were done as a part of the workshop to ensure team-work. The two-hour workshop was very informative and refreshing for the staff. The main highlight of the workshop was 'Service with a smile'.

Smt. Renuka N Menon, 68 years, a member of Kendra Committee as also the former Principal of Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Eroor; the Education Officer of Bhavan's Shikshan Bharati, Mumbai, and a Senior Academic Consultant of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, passed away on April 28, 2023.
She served the Bhavan for more than 40 years with distinction, dedication and commitment, and contributed substantially towards the all-round development of Bhavan's Kendra and its Institutions in Kochi. With her passing away, Bhavan's Kochi Kendra has lost a very valuable and visionary person.
The Bhavan as a whole deeply mourn her sad demise and pray that her noble soul may rest in eternal peace and that the members of the bereaved family have the strength and fortitude to withstand the irreparable loss.
