Sardar Kulwant Singhji, Founder Chairman, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula left for his heavenly abode on July 1, 2022.
Born on December 21, 1933, Kulwant Singhji hailed from Delhi, and was an alumnus of the prestigious Hindu College, Delhi. He was inducted into the Indian Administrative Services in the year 1958 and rose to the rank of Chief Secretary in the Haryana government. After his retirement, he dedicated his life to the promotion of education.
It was due to his relentless efforts that Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula was established in the year 1994.
A great visionary, he believed that a good system of education should aim at the holistic development of personality to ensure peace and happiness. It should also ensure that the mind of an individual is so cultured as to enable him or her to comprehend and accomplish his/her full potential—of mind, body and spirit—in both personal and social spheres.
He will always be remembered as a man of principles with exceptional leadership qualities, dynamism and unwavering commitment to excellence.
His unflappable approach, wisdom, indefatigable spirit and courage of conviction to take correct decisions enabled the school to scale great heights. It is considered one of the top CBSE schools in the country.
May God give strength to his family to bear the irreparable loss and may his soul rest in eternal peace.
Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula organised LAAM EXPORAMA-2020, an annual two-day fun-filled event to commemorate founder Vice Chairman Shri Lala Amarnath Aggarwal on November 6 and 7, 2020 on the virtual platform.
The event aimed at bringing out innate talent and potential of the students. The event was not only the medium to exhibit the creativity and versality of the participants but was also instrumental in nurturing healthy competitive spirit among them.
The programmes conducted over two days included folk dance, quiz and various other creative competitions. Thereafter prize distribution was organised in which all the participants were given digital certificates and Amazon vouchers were given to the winners.
The overall running trophy was bagged by Bhavan's Vidyamandir School, Tripura and Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula.
Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula celebrated 'Gurpurab' with devotion and reverence. The school paid tributes to Shri Guru Nanak Dev by spreading his divine message of harmony, humility and equality. On the occasion, short films based on the life of Guru Sahib, were screened. Various Shabads were recited by music teachers. Students of class 11 and 12 contributed for a good cause. They celebrated the day with the underprivileged children of Bhavan Chetna Group. They distributed dry ration and masks among these children. Kadah Prashad was also distributed among the attendees.
In an endeavour to foster good health and fitness among students, Bhavan Panchkula observed Fit India Week from December 1-7, 2020. The week had plethora of events which included virtual assemblies, Common Yoga Protocols, free hand exercises and brain games etc., wherein every dimension of fitness was taken care of. The highlight of the week long celebrations was a highly inspirational talk of Mr. Vivek Atray, Ex IAS officer and Motivational Speaker on Saturday 5th December on YouTube Live stream. Mr. Atray attributed his success to the threefold mantra of Physical, Mental and Spiritual fitness and advised the students to imbibe it in their lives. He also guided the young brigade to strike a balance in everything through moderation.
Panchkula Bhavanites have showcased a benchmark performance in District Online Yoga Competition, which was conducted on December 12 and 13, 2020. Following students brought laurels to school by winning various accolades. Tanvi, Paarit, Shanaya, Maanwender, Aaditri won the first prize. Aahana, Kanishtha, Purva captured the second prize. Saanvi won the Third prize and Anwita bagged the fourth prize. These students had participated as per their age groups. Selected students will participate in online State Yoga Competition from December 19 to 27, 2020.
Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula organised the 'Fit India Cycle Rally' on December 13, in The Town Park. In order to spread the message of fitness among the city residents, more than fifty cycling enthusiasts, including teachers and students of the school, participated in it. The cyclists took multiple rounds of the town park. The Vice Principal Mrs. Sonia Pabby and Headmistress Mrs. Anita Ranjan flagged off the rally with the contingent raising the slogans such as 'Fit School, Hit School'.
AKS Education Awards has bestowed "The Global Principal's Award 2020" on Smt. Gulshan Kaur, Principal Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula. She was felicitated virtually along with the other award winners from 31 countries during the Principals' Award & Conclave on June 21, 2021. The international award personifies her innovative and progressive outlook. While accepting the award, she mentioned that the whole credit goes to her team consisting of teachers and all the students.
Bhavan Panchkula students once again excelled in CBSE class XII Board examination, despite all odds and unprecedented challenges of the COVID pandemic.
Hiteshwar Sharma, of Humanities stream and CBSE National Topper of class 10 in 2019, made everyone proud once again by achieving 99.8% marks in class 12 CBSE Board. Hiteshwar plays cricket at the National Level and has successfully balanced academics and sports.
Following him closely was Drishti Gupta, of the Non- medical stream and also Class 10 CBSE National topper who scored 99.2% and proved her mettle once again.
Muskan Rulhania of Humanities was also the second topper of the school with 99.2% .
Abir Kaushal bagged the top slot in Commerce with 99% and Shreya Narwal from Medical scored 97.8%.
Out of a total of 139 students, 64 scored above 95%.
The class X board results have again endorsed the success story of Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula. This year six students Guntas Grewal, Parv Goyal, Muskan Dhiman, Gitansha Beniwal, Arsh Sharma, Simran Grover from the school scored 99.8 % marks in the class X board exam.
The school has obtained 100% result. Out of 222 students, 66% students secured an aggregate of above 90%.
Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the country's Independence Day, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, celebrated the occasion on the virtual platform with numerous events ranging from cultural performances to debates and special assemblies.
A special celebration was also held in the school premises observing all Covid protocols and safety measures.
