  • Mrs. Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister of United Kingdom, visits Bhavan's U.K. Centre.
  • Bhavan's College of Communication and Management is started at the Bhavan's Andheri Campus in Bombay.
  • Bhavan's College of Communication and Management is started in Jaipur.
  • Bhavan's Jubilee Hills High School( Vidyashram) is started in Hyderabad.
  • Bhavan's Kindergarten School is started in Kakinada.
  • Bhavan's Dayanand College of Communication & Management is started in Chandigarh.
  • Bhavan's Vidyalaya is started in Trichur, Kerala. (June)
1980
  • Bhavan's 'Book Extension Counter' and 'Own Your Own Library' schemes launched.
  • Bhavan confers Hon. Membership on Lord Fenner Brockway, the Humanist.
  • Bhavan's Jayaramdas Patel College of Commerce is started at Chowpatty, Bombay.
  • Shri N.M. Jalundhwala Laboratory of Electronics and Radio Communication is added to the Bhavan's Hazarimal Somani College of Arts & Science at Chowpatty, Bombay.
  • Bhavan's College of Mass Communication & Management is started in Calcutta.
  • Bhavan's College of Mass Communication & Management is started in Nagpur.
  • Bhavan's Trivedi K.M. Mahila Technical Institute is started at Dakor.
  • Foundation - stone of the Rs. 75 lakhs worth building complex of Bhavan's Chandigarh Kendra is laid by Rashtrapati Shri Neelam Sanjiva Reddy at Chandigarh.
  • Foundation - stone of the Bhavan's Rs. 2 crores worth building complex at Bidhan Nagar at the 5 acres site allotted by the Government of West Bengal at Bidhan Nagar, Sector 111, Calcutta, is laid by Rashtrapati Shri Neelam Sanjiva Reddy.
  • Bhavan's Rajaji Vidyashram on 5 acre land at Kilpauk, Madras, gifted to the Bhavan by the late Shri V. Pattabiram, is started.
  • Bhavan's Rajaji Centenary Children's Library at Thakkar Bapa Vidylaya, Madras is inaugurated by Shri C. Subramaniam.
  • Bhavan's Vidya Mandir at Giri Nagar, South Cochin, Kerala is inaugurated by the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court, Shri V. Balakrishna Eradi.(August)
  • A Kindergarten School at the Bhavan's Kendra premises is started at Coimbatore.
  • Rashtrapati Shri Neelam Sanjiva reddy becomes the Bhavan's Honorary Member.
  • Bhavan's College of Communication & Management in Jamnagar is started.
  • Bhavan's College of Communication & Management in Kakinada is started.
  • Bhavan's Rajaji International Institute of Public Affairs and Administration is started.
1981
  • Foundation - stone for Bhavan's Bhagwandas Purohit Sabhagriha and the Kendra building in Nagpur is laid by Rashtrapati Shri Neelam Sanjiva Reddy.
  • Rt. Hon'ble James Callaghan, former Prime Minister of United Kingdom, becomes Bhavan's Honorary Member.
  • His Royal Highness Prince Charles becomes the Patron - in -Chief of the Bhavan's U.K. Centre in London succeeding his great grand uncle, Lord Mountbatten.
  • Foundation - stone for the Bhavan's Shriyans Prasad Jain Institute at the Bhavan's Campus, Andheri, Bombay, is laid by the Rt. Hon'ble Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister of United Kingdom. Shri G.D. Birla presided over the function.
  • Bhavan's Vidyalaya at Kakinada is started.
  • Bhavan's Hyderabad Kendra building constructed at a cost of Rs. 10 lakhs, named as "Kulapati Munshi Sadan" is inaugurated by Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao, Union Minister for External Affairs.
  • Bhavan's Centre in Durban, South Africa is started under the Chairmanship of Dr. N.P. Desai, great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi.
  • Andhra Pradesh Government hands over 28 acre building complex at Bolarum, Hyderabad for the Headquarters of the Bhavan's Institute of Public Affairs and Administration.
  • Bhavan's Shriyans Prasad Jain Institute of management & Research at Andheri, Bombay, is started.
  • Bhavan's Industrial Training Institute at Dakor is started.
  • Bhavan's Vidya Mandir in Nagpur is started.
  • Bhavan's Hall at the London centre is named as "Mountbatten Hall" by the Rt. Hon'ble Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
  • Bhavan's Centre in New york is started.
  • Bhavan's Patna Kendra is started.
  • Swami Ranganathananda inaugurates the classes of the Bhavan's Shriyans Prasad Jain Institute of Management and Research, Andheri, Bombay.
