1991
  • Shri Ramakrishnan, Executive Secretary and Director General of the Bhavan honoured with the National Award of Padma Shri. He is also chosen as Member of the National Integration Council of which the Prime Minister is the Chairman.
  • Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao, a senior Member of the Bhavan's Family on his first visit to Bombay, after assuming the office of Prime Minister was the Chief Guest at the Bhavan's Diwali Sneha Sammelan(1.11.1991)
  • The Bhavan confers Honorary membership on Rev.Mother Teresa.
  • The Bhavan confers Honorary membership on Justice Shri M. Hidayatullah.
  • The Bhavan confers Honorary membership on Sri Chinmoy at the UN Plaza, NewYork.
  • A Sarva Dharma Maitri Yatra for inter Religious Harmony organized on the 41st Punyatithi of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (15.12. 1991). Over 50,000 people participated.
1992
  • His Excellency Dr. Mario Soares, President of Portugal was installed as Patron-in-Chief of the Bhavan's Lisbon Centre at a special function held in Bombay (2.2.1992).
  • Bhavan's Guruvayur Kendra is started.
  • Bhavan's Irinjalakuda Kendra is started.
  • Bhavan's Kottayam Kendra is started.
  • Bhavan's Ponani Kendra is started.
  • Bhavan's Thirunavaya Kendra is started.
  • Bhavan's Wayanad Kendra is started.
  • Bhavan's Udupi-Manipal Kendra is started.
  • Bhavan's Kota Kendra is started.
  • Bhavan's Manchester centre in U.K. is started.
  • Bhavan's Varuna Vidyalaya at Trikkakkara, Kerala is started.
  • Bhavan's Ambuja Vidya Niketan at Kodinar, Gujarat is started.
  • Adarsha Vidyalaya in Ernakulam is merged with the Bhavan.
  • Smt. Sushila Iyengar, wife of the late Shri H.V.R. Iyengar, former Governor of Reserve Bank of India, bequeaths to the Bhavan their spacious residential bungalow and 16,846 sq.ft. of land at the Raj Mahal Extension in Bangalore.
    The 100 - year old Bombay Astrological Society merges with the Bhavan as a constituent unit Bhavan's Jyotish Bharati.
  • Bhavan's Hosur Kendra is started.
  • The Bhavan is chosen for the Rajiv Gandhi Award for National Integration (1992) by the Priyadarshini Academy, Bombay, in recognition of Bhavan's outstanding contribution to National integration, particularly, through its Sarva Dharma Maitri Pratishthan. The award carries a Trophy and a Cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh.
  • Bhavan's Shikshan Bharati is started.
1993
  • Shri Shriyans Prasad Jain, Honorary Treasurer of the Bhavan from 1950 passes away (7.3.1992).
  • Inauguration of Bhavan's Manchester Kendra by Dr. L.M. Singhvi, Indian High Commissioner in the U.K. (6.3.1993).
  • Bhavan's Mexican centre is incorporated.
  • Bhavan's U.S. Centre acquires premises admeasuring 7,500 sq.ft. at Seventh Avenue, in Manhattan, New York.
  • Gifting of Property along with the Sawan Public School owned by the S.J. Jindal Trust at Chhatarpur, New Delhi to Bhavan.
  • Shri K.R. Narayanan, Vice-President of India, releases 'The Turning Point' the first volume of Shri C. Subramaniam's four-volume memoirs, Hand of Destiny in New Delhi.
  • A movement to de-link Religion from Politics is launched.
  • Shri B. Satyanarayana Reddy, Governor of Uttar Pradesh lays the foundation-stone of the Bhavan's Lucknow Kendra and Vidyalaya building at Gomati Nagar, Lucknow.
  • The Pune Municipal corporation names the chowk close to the Bhavan's Pune Kendra campus as 'Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Chowk' and the road adjoining the campus and the play ground as 'Dr. K.M. Munshi Path'.
  • Bhavan's Jayanti Rangildas Khandwala Bal Bharati at Andheri, Bombay is started.
  • Bhavan's College at Sainikpuri, Secunderabad is started.
