Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Wadakanchery Kendra (114th Kendra) was inaugurated on 17th January 2003 by Member of Parliament Mr. S Ajaykumar.
Balamandir was inaugurated on 2nd June 2003 with two divisions & KG to start from Brahman Sabha to begin with and then from the premises of Shri. Ajit Mallayya on token rentals for next five years.
Primary School classes started from AY 2004-05 with a student strength of 179 students.
3.50 acres land at Akamala was donated to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan for starting CBSE School by Soudhrdha Group & their MD , Shri. P.N. Rajan. The foundation for School Building was laid on 16/1/2004. School Building was inaugurated on 14/11/2005 by Pravinchandra Gandhi in the presence of Shri. HN Dastur, Shri. PR Krishnamoorthy, Shri. AV Venkatachalam, and Smt. & Shri. Sundararaman, son of the late Shri. S Ramakrishnan and Panchayat Pradhans.
Wadakanchery Kendra has one Balamandir (KG Section) and one Higher Secondary School.

The 20th Annual Day celebration of Bhavan's S. Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School was held on December 9, 2022. The Guest of Honour Shri. Kalamandalam Vijayakumar and the Chief Guest Shri. Kalamandalam Barbara Vijayakumar graced the occasion with their presence.
The annual prize distribution was a moment of pride and honour for all the winners and achievers of the school. The students were awarded prizes in academic as well as co-curricular areas. After the inaugural session, various cultural programmes were presented by the students.
The investiture ceremony of Bhavan's S. Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School was held on July 15, 2022. The school Chairman Shri P. N. Rajan and Associate Secretary Shri P. N. Gokulan graced the occasion with their presence, along with the School Principal and the Vice Principal.
The Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captain and the School Prefects were conferred with badges, sashes, and flags. All the newly elected candidates of the Student's Council, House Captains, and their prefects took an oath.
Ramayana Month at Bhavan's S. Ramakrishnan Memorial Public School, Akamala was inaugurated on July 18, 2022. The occasion was blessed with the presence of Shri V. R. Ramachandran, religious scholar, former bank employee, and financial advisor.
During the inaugural address, Shri Ramachandran spoke about the importance of Ramayana in the present scenario. He also stressed the importance of 'Dharma' which Rama upheld throughout his life.
