The Mangalore Kendra was started on July 19, 1971. In February 1979, the Kendra moved to its own premises.

Bhavanotsava-2024—A Cultural Programme was organised by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan at Pandeshwar, Mangalore, on November 30, 2024. The programme commenced with a prayer recited by the Carnatic Music students. Students trained in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan presented Hindustani Music, Carnatic Music and Tabla concerts. The students of Art School demonstrated their drawing skills on the stage. An interesting demonstration of Yoga and Karate also followed. A colourful and artistic performance of Bharata Natyam was a feast for the audience.
