Driven by design excellence and creating an innovative educational experience for students, Bhavan's Munshi Vidyashram, Thiruvamkulam ushered in the year 2001 under the management of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra under the Directorship of Sri. E Govindan and Secretaryship of Sri.Vasudevan Pillai, to provide quality education to the residents in and around Tripunithura.
The school got affiliated to CBSE in the year 2012.

- NASA Space Trek :
Vice Principal Smt. Latha S, Smt Jijitha V G , teacher from the Department of Physics and 18 students went on an Educational trip to NASA,USA.
- National Student Exchange Programme
Student exchange programme was organised with Bhavan's Jubilee Vidyashram,Hyderabad (2015-'16), Bhavan's Purohit Bhaghavandas Vidya Mandir, Civil Lanes, Nagpur Bhavan's Purohit Bhaghavandas Vidya Mandir, Sreekrishna Nagar, Nagpur (2016-'17), Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Jaipur (2018-'19).
- The school received the HarithaJoythi puraskaram from Mathrubhumi Seed for the commitment to the environment and seed activities.
- Smt. Savitri P D, teacher, Dept. of Malayalam authored a collection of poems in Malayalam titled, 'Koluthanaayumbol Theliyunna Thirikal'.
