The Bhavan's Faculty of Fine Arts was established in the year 1996, by the Coimbatore Kendra of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan with the kind blessings of his Holiness Late Swami Dayananda Sarawathi and under the able stewardship of Chairman Shri B.K.Krishnaraj Vanavarayer. The faculty offers Diploma courses to students seeking to learn the rich classical art forms of Carnatic Music, Bharatanatyam, Veena and Mridangam. These courses are streamlined with well-framed syllabi that include both theoretical and practical training, periodical exams and also a completion exam that is conducted with External Examiners. The duration of the above courses is three years and on completion, the Arangetram of the students is arranged by the faculty. Further, a Certificate Course for devotional music is also being conducted here, which helps to create an awareness and appreciation to Indian Music among youngsters. Students from the age of 10 years are admitted and the academic year of the Faculty of Fine Arts begins on the Vijaya Dashami of each year.
