The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is a comprehensive art, cultural and educational movement which believes that common elements of cultures can transcend barriers and bring people together.
The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan London is a dynamic cultural centre and has been at the forefront of Indian arts education in the UK since its establishment 1972 as a flagship Centre outside India. For the last 50 years, The Bhavan London has been delivering classical training in Indian dance, music, art history, yoga, and languages for students both young and old, Indian and non-Indian. It is the only organisation in the UK that provides such a wide variety of traditional Indian cultural activities under one roof, holding classes in over 23 different subjects, which allows for great cross-fertilisation across the art-forms.
Each year, The Bhavan also presents over 100 live performance events of Indian music, dance, workshops, and exhibitions in our 300-seat auditorium and purpose-built art gallery. This is the largest number of South Asian performing and visual arts events by any organisation in the UK.
The Bhavan London is a registered charity.
