Late Shri Ramakrishnanji of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was the
inspiration behind the setting up of the Bhavan Kendra in Kuwait. The Kendra
established the “Indian Educational School” on September 4, 2006, with 111
students. The school was formally inaugurated on November 30, 2006 by Shri M.
Ganapathy, the Ambassador of India to Kuwait. Among those present included
Director of the Bhavan’s Delhi Kendra and others. It is the 15th Indian School
in Kuwait and is the only day boarding Indian school in that country and has the
concepts of “No Home work”, “No Tuition”, “Individual Care for the Children”,
“Limited number of 25 students in each class”. It is the first Indian school to
offer Sanskrit as its second language.
