Bhavan’s Mumbadevi Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai, is one of India’s premier institutions dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and advancement of Sanskrit learning and traditional Indian knowledge systems. Established in 1939 under the aegis of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, the Mahavidyalaya has been serving as a distinguished centre for higher education in Sanskrit for more than eight decades.

In 1977, the institution was brought under the prestigious Adarsh Scheme of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and was thereafter renamed Mumbadevi Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya. The Mahavidyalaya has earned national recognition for its commitment to excellence in Sanskrit education, research, and the preservation of India's rich intellectual heritage.

Sāhitya (Sanskrit Literature and Poetics)
Advaita Vedānta (Non-dualistic Philosophy propounded by Adi Śaṅkarācārya)
Through a blend of traditional pedagogical methods and modern academic standards, the Mahavidyalaya nurtures scholars, teachers, researchers, and students dedicated to the study and dissemination of Sanskrit knowledge.
