Kozhikode Kendra
Sahodaya Schools Complex Malabar Region conducted District Inter School Chess Championship 2026 on June 27, 2026 and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Perumthurithi, Kozhikode Kendra secured overall First Runner Up Position. The individual prize winners:
1) Jaahnav VM—Class 4—Under 11 Boys - 2nd Position
2) Geethika S—Class 9—Under 14 Girls—2nd Position
3) I Harini—Class 10—Under 17 Girls—3rd Position
4) Manju Mahesh—Class 12— Under 19 Girls—1st position

The All India Bhavan’s Model United Nations Conference 2026 for Southern India was held at Bhavan’s Higher Secondary School Chevayur, Calicut on April 10-11, 2026. The conference was attended by 177 student delegates from Hyderabad, Tirupati, Chennai, and Keralam.
The Inaugural and Valedictory Sessions of AIBMUN Conference 2026 were presided over by Acharya Gurusreshta Sri A. K. B. Nair, Chairman of the Bhavan’s Kendra. He highlighted the vision and mission of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan worldwide and explained the timeless motto ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’—the world is one family.
The conference was inaugurated on April 10, 2026 by Sri T. P. Srinivasan, former diplomat and India’s Permanent Representative to the U.N.O., Vienna, who interacted with the student delegates and clarified their doubts regarding the functioning of the United Nations.
Sri Pauly Menachery, Director of Sikshan Bharathi, Bhavan’s Mumbai, emphasised the importance of communication skills, leadership, and social commitment among students. The conference witnessed enthusiastic participation of delegates in various committee sessions such as UNHRC, UNSC, UNCSW, DISEC, and the International Press.
The historic AIBMUN Conference 2026 concluded with the distribution of certificates, awards, and prizes to the delegates.

The All India Bhavan’s Model United Nations Conference (AIBMUN 2026), themed ‘Samanvay—The World is One Family’, was held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chevayur, on April 10–11, 2026. The conference brought together students from 23 schools across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, including 21 participants from the host school. It served as an engaging platform for deliberation on global issues while fostering leadership, communication, and diplomatic skills.
The inaugural ceremony featured a welcome address by Smt. Sujatha Rajagopal and a presidential address by Shri A. K. B. Nair. The conference was formally inaugurated by Shri T. P. Sreenivasan, IFS (Retd.), who provided valuable insights into the functioning of the United Nations. Shri Pauly Menachery, Director, Bhavan’s Shikshan Bharati, highlighted the importance of effective communication, observation, and social responsibility.
The event also included interactive sessions, cultural programmes, and vibrant committee deliberations. The valedictory function featured addresses by distinguished guests, emphasising leadership, respect, and national commitment. Awards were presented to outstanding delegates. AIBMUN 2026 proved to be a highly enriching experience, enhancing students’ confidence, awareness, and global perspective.

Manju Mahesh studying in Class 11 of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School, Perumthiruthi, Kozhikode Kendra participated in 69th National School Games Chess Championship 2025-26 U19 Girls category as a team member for CBSE and the team secured second position and won silver medal. The team consisted of 5 members and other 4 members were from Velammal School, Chennai.

Manju Mahesh, a Class 11 student of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School, Perumthiruthi, Kozhikode Kendra, participated in CBSE National Individual Chess Tournament Under 19 Girls 2025-26 on September 4, 2025 at Udaipur, Rajasthan and secured overall 2nd runner up position

At the Under-18 Asian Athletics Meet held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Devak Bhooshan, a Class 12 student of Bhavan’s Higher Secondary School, Chevayur, Calicut, Kerala, represented India in the high jump. He achieved an impressive jump of 2.03 meters, winning the silver medal and gaining national acclaim.
Acharyasri A.K.B. Nair, Chairman of the Calicut Kendra, presented a memento to Devak and his dedicated coach, Sri Dharmavruthan, the Physical Education Teacher at Bhavan’s School, Chevayur. Vice Chairman Srihari Menon, C.A., awarded cash prizes to both of them.

At a ceremony held in Nanminda, Calicut, Swami Chidanandapuri, the head of Adwaithasramam, Kolathur, conferred the prestigious Sanskriti Dharmaratna Award on Acharyasri A.K.B. Nair, Chairman of Calicut Kendra. The award, instituted by Bharateeyam Sanskriti Nanminda, recognises outstanding contributions in Indian culture, education and literature. In his keynote address, Swami Chidanandapuri praised Acharyasri A.K.B. Nair’s invaluable service in promoting Indian heritage and values.
Prominent figures, including Sri Anilkumar Vallil (Chairman, Malabar Medical College), Lt. Colonel Udayavihari and Sri V.G. Thambi (Film Director), addressed the gathering. Acharyapathni Smt. Anandavalli Angepatt and other dignitaries were present at the event.
Investiture Ceremony
The Aramana Tharavad (ancestral house) of Kizhakkan Kozhuval in Nileswaram, Kasargode District, Kerala, is the hereditary trustee of the renowned Mannampurathu Kavu Bhagavathi Temple, one of the eight Saktheya Temples of North Kerala. Acharyasri A.K.B. Nair, Chairman of the BVB Calicut Kendra and a senior member of the Aramana Tharavad family, was appointed as the Aramana Achan. The present Raja of Alladaswarupam, Sri Udayavarma Raja, honoured him with a sword, dagger, arakacha stick and a palm-leaf umbrella. The Raja whispered the title of ‘Aramana Achan’ three times into Acharyasri’s ear, and the investiture ceremony (Ariyittu Vazhcha) followed. Dressed as a warrior chief, Acharyasri A.K.B. Nair, accompanied by his family, relatives and admirers, proceeded with a traditional procession, including Panchavadyam and Thalappoli, to the Mannampurath Bhagavathi Temple. He offered his respects to Mahachanda Yogeswari and sought her blessings before returning to the Aramana Tharavad.

The Parvathi Smruthi Mandapam at Bhavan's School, Chevayur, Calicut, was officially inaugurated in the memory of late Dr. Parvathi, an alumna of the institution.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Shobha and Dr. Prassanna Kumar, parents of Dr. Parvathi, who dedicated the stage to their daughter's memory. The event was inaugurated by Acharya Sri A.K.B. Nair, Chairman of Bhavan's Kendra, Calicut.

On January 29, 2024, Padma Shri Brahmanand Sankhwalker, a recipient of the Arjuna Award and former captain of the Indian football team, inaugurated the newly laid grass-turf football field and coaching camp for selected students of Bhavan’s School in Perumthuruthi Elathur, Calicut. Dr. Gopalakrishnan Vice Chairman, Bhavan’s Kendra, Calicut, presided over the function. Sri. Vijayan Balakrishnan, (IAS Retd), Chairman of the Malabar Sports and Recreation Foundation, Calicut, along with Smt. Sreeja Unnikrishnan, Principal, Sri Sudhish Gopinath, PTA President, and other dignitaries graced the occasion with their presence.
Conference Hall inaugurated
The newly-constructed conference hall and renovated office room at Bhavan’s Kendra in Balamandir Building, Chalapuram, Calicut, were inaugurated on April 12, 2024. The Chairman, Gurusreshta Acharyasri A.K.B. Nair, ceremoniously lit the Nilavilakku during the inauguration. CA Srihari, Vice Chairman, Sri Sachit Kumar, Secretary, Adv. Vasan, Treasurer, Sri V.U. Eradi, IRS (Retd), Sri P. Chandrasekharan, IIS (Retd), M.P. Pradeep Kumar, Prof. Haridas, and Dr. Aryadevi were present at the inaugural function.

Adhyathmikacharya Gurusreshta Sri A.K.B. Nair was awarded the K.P. Kesava Menon Memorial Award for the year 2023. The esteemed award was presented by the Honourable Governor of Goa, Sri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, during a ceremony held at the Alakapuri Auditorium in Calicut. The K.P. Kesava Menon Memorial Award, established by the K.P. Kesava Menon Memorial Samithi in Calicut, pays tribute to the renowned freedom fighter, Founder and Chief Editor of Mathrubhoomi National Daily, former Indian High Commissioner of Singapore and Malaysia, and esteemed litterateur, K.P. Kesava Menon.
During the event, Acharya A.K.B. Nair was honoured by the Indo-Arab Confederation Council President Sri A.V. Kunhamu, who presented a memento to acknowledge his significant contributions. Additionally, Sri M. Kesavamenon, a senior journalist and great-grandson of K.P. Kesava Menon, bestowed further honour upon Acharya by adorning him with a ponnada.
The function, presided over by Sri P.V. Chandran, Chairman of Mathrubhoomi Company Pvt. Ltd., was marked by the welcoming address from Sri Attakoya Pallikandi, the General Secretary of the organising Committee. Acharya A.K.B. Nair expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all present for the recognition bestowed upon him.
